Mass this evening...

I have just got in from the pub and I feel quite content. Mass at Maiden Lane this evening was quite splendid, the Ordinary was sung to the plainchant melodies of Mass IV, and we sang the Te Deum afterwards - truly uplifting; alas, no organ accompaniment though. In the pub afterwards, I was reprimanded for not saying the Confiteor before the Communion of the lay-folk, but I took it in good humour! Imagine such a faux pas at Maiden Lane! I think the general consensus in the pub was that we ought to sing the Te Deum whenever 14th September comes around. We all drank to the health of the Holy Father and had a nice long chat about things. A most splendid Feast Day.
