I would like to do a Tolkien post, but I don't have any ideas yet. I'd be grateful if any readers had any suggestions. Many thanks,
Patricius.

A Elbereth Gilthoniel o menel palan-diriel, le nallon sí di-nguruthos! A tiro nin, Fanuilos!
I suggest reading a few of his Letters: I always find them very stimulating, and I'm sure they would quickly suggest a few topics worthy of a post... (PS Mulier Fortis said to say she'd sent me over...)
ReplyDeleteHow about a summary of what books Tolkien wrote, and how they relate to each other? I mean, I know that The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings go together "chronologically", but which book did Tolkien write first?
ReplyDelete(Just a small suggestion, for those of us who are complete ignoramuses where Tolkien is concerned!)
A post giving the outline (is that even possible) of The Silmarillion and how to read it would be useful. I have, alas, always given up after about twenty pages.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your kind suggestions; they have been noted. I also have in mind a post about the ''Anastasia'' - the house of St Gregory of Nazianzos at Constantinople if anyone is interested?
